An email from my father

My parents are back in the most boring place on earth for the winter. What else is there to do but walk? To wit [sic]:

About 4 days out of the week mom walks the beach for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. She is 77 yrs old & soon to be 78.

Yesterday we drove to Corpus. I dropped mom off at the mall around noon. She had lunch at the food court, at least that's what she told me.

I went to the buffet in Flour Bluff cause I love it, & mom, "not so much." I then went to see, Lone Survivor, it was just ok, too intense, makes you kinda hate mankind for not finding a better way to solve our differences than killing each other. But, back to the main point of this e-mail.

While I was at the movie mom was shopping the mall. She went from Dillard's, to Macy's, one department store after another, from 12:30 to almost 5pm, non stop. We then went to H.E.B.'s, a grocery store & she shopped there for another hour. This morning I said to her, "how many 77 yr old women could shop, nonstop, for 5 or 6 hours like you did?" She just replied, "Oh heck, I could go for 8 hours straight with no problem." How do you like them apples?, & just now she left to go walk the beach once more.

You tell me, exercise doesn't matter? love, dad
