It's been suggested to me several times (ahem, with zero subtlety) that my penmanship is a disaster. I blame it on the usual scourges: modern technology, carpal tunnel, global warming, gasoline prices, squatty fingers, kids today. So on Friday after work I popped over to Lee's Art Shop on 57th and bought myself a sketchbook and new pens and went to town with some old-fashioned handwriting practice, doodling, and lists of favored New York establishments. And while I don't take kindly AT ALL to personal criticism, it was actually a good reminder to slow down and pay attention to small things I've been taking for granted.
